Every article here is the original written work of Saurav Sinha and is protected by copyright. Unless a page says otherwise, the text is not offered under any open licence.
Short quotation needs no permission: quote a sentence or two in a review, essay, newsletter or handout, naming Tales From Time, crediting Saurav Sinha, and linking to the article. Without written permission, please do not:

It is not photography of real artefacts, sites or people, and nothing here is licensed from a museum, archive or stock agency. The images illustrate a story rather than document one; they are not evidence of how a place or person actually looked.
They remain the property of Saurav Sinha and may not be resold, offered as stock, or presented anywhere as photography. To use one, write to sauravsinha@talesfromtime.com saying which image and where it will appear; any permitted use must credit Tales From Time and note the image is AI-generated.
Quotations and Sources
Articles quote briefly from published translations, critical editions and scholarly work. They are short, serve commentary and criticism, and rely on fair dealing under Indian copyright law and on fair use where United States law applies. The work is always named, and the translator or editor named with it, since a translation is itself a creative work.
If a quotation here is misattributed, credited to the wrong translator, or longer than fair dealing allows, tell us and it will be corrected or removed.
If You Believe Your Copyright Has Been Infringed
A notice we can act on needs all six of the elements listed in the copyright section of our Terms and Conditions: identification of the work, identification of the material and its exact URL on talesfromtime.com, your full contact details, a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorised, a statement made under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner, and your physical or electronic signature. Incomplete notices are queried, not ignored.
We aim to acknowledge a notice within three working days and to reach a decision as quickly as the claim allows, usually within ten. Where a claim looks well founded, the material comes down or is corrected while it is reviewed. Incomplete notices are queried, not ignored.
If material of yours was removed in error or by misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. The elements a counter-notice needs are set out in the copyright section of our Terms and Conditions. Where material was posted by a reader and is restored after a valid counter-notice, we will normally restore it between ten and fourteen working days after we forward the counter-notice to the complainant, unless they tell us they have begun legal proceedings. Material we published ourselves is restored, corrected or left down on the merits, and we will tell you which.
Corrections and Attribution Requests
You do not need a lawyer to get a credit fixed. If your work, translation or research has been used or paraphrased here without proper acknowledgement, write to sauravsinha@talesfromtime.com and say what the credit should read. Reasonable requests are honoured and noted on the page, as our Editorial Policy describes.
